Not motivated by money huh??

Money doesn’t motivate you huh?!

I work with a lot of people who say that they don’t feel motivated by money.

Of course not.

First of all you have probably been told the love of money is bad. That it’s greedy to make too much. That money is evil. Etc etc.

It’s a brick of lifeless bills. Or a fun number to write down.

But what if you could consistently double your current monthly income…and then again?

Still nothing?

What things would you do that you ‘can’t’ now?

Experiences you’d have?

Place you’d live?

Charity your donate to?

How would you dress differently?

Been on vacation lately?

Sending the kids to the school you want?

Do you have the support you want? Housekeeper, personal trainer, chef, driver??

And it’s easy to say you want to make that big number. In fact your ego will even indulge the fantasy.

But it knows that you won’t go for it until it’s actually tangible.

And when you don’t it had the effect of making you feel good and then beating you up with the fact you didn’t make it.

Guilt and shame!

But until you break it down and give it life…it won’t ever be what motivates you!

Once you do have an idea how making more will excite you. Try to experience some of it.

If you want to move to a new house, go to open houses at the new price point.

Hang out in the coffee shops of that neighbourhood.

Test drive the dream car.

Price the vacation you want.

If you can’t afford a huge gourmet meal, have a drink at the bar of the high end restaurant.

Give a small amount to the charity you’d like to support. Get involved by volunteering and see what a difference a financial contribution could make.

This starts the momentum rolling.

Or you can keep saying you aren’t motivated by money.

Ego is a liar!
